Rev. Dr. Emerson Ross
Rev. Dr. Emerson Ross is a native of Sumter County, Alabama, where he was lovingly raised by his grandfather. From an early age, he developed a deep reverence for God and a passion for learning—values that would ultimately shape the course of his life and ministry.
He accepted his calling to the ministry in 1987 and was ordained to preach in 1989. Since that time, Dr. Ross has faithfully served in multiple ministry roles. He began as Assistant Pastor of Pinetop Missionary Baptist Church (now Bethel Pine Missionary Baptist Church) in Sumter County, Alabama, under the leadership of the late Rev. Floyd O. Bell. He later served as Young Adult Minister at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roswell, Georgia, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Frank Lewis. In every assignment, Dr. Ross ministered with humility, compassion, and a genuine heart for God’s people.
Dr. Ross is a distinguished scholar, having earned Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Biblical Education from Gwinnett Hall Baptist Bible College in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where he later served as a professor for several years. His academic preparation reflects his commitment to rightly dividing the Word of Truth and equipping others for effective ministry.
Alongside his ministerial responsibilities, Dr. Ross has built a long and respected professional career. He served for 30 years as a manager at Hoshizaki America in Peachtree City, Georgia, and currently serves in a leadership role at VDL Industries in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Throughout his career, he has faithfully balanced professional excellence with his calling to preach and teach the Gospel.
In May 2007, God called Dr. Ross to serve as Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia. He considers it both an honor and a blessing to shepherd a congregation that is passionate about worship and committed to growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. His ministry is marked by integrity, dedication, and a sincere love for God’s people.
In 2014, Dr. Ross received a God-given vision to expand access to biblical education. Partnering with his longtime friend, Dr. Eugene Harbin, he helped establish a Satellite Division of Gwinnett Hall Baptist Bible College in Flowery Branch, Georgia. This initiative has continued to impact lives by equipping students for ministry and Christian service for over five years.
In 2024, Dr. Ross was further honored with an honorary Doctoral Degree in Humanitarian Service in recognition of his continued work and positive impact within the community.
Dr. Ross currently resides in Buford, Georgia, with his loving wife, Lillian. Together, they are the proud parents of two adult daughters, Latashia and Stephanie, who remain a continual source of joy and inspiration.
As a visionary servant of God, Rev. Dr. Emerson Ross continues to be used by the Lord to serve people faithfully and to advance the ministry of Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching, leadership, and service.
